Great service and product. This flyscreen is easy to install and works really well keeping Flys out of the house. The cats are still able to get out their cat flap too. Much sturdier fabric then what you can buy at Bunnings or Mitre 10. Highly recommended

I needed a simple to install, simple to use product, to combat incessant flies coming in through our upstairs balcony in Brisbane. The door being open is essential for the all important breeze, but the flies were unwelcome. Magnetic options were not ideal, and traditional fly screen mesh blocks the breeze. Amazingly, the dangling chains block no breeze, do not block the view much as the loops in the chain are quite open, and not a single fly!!! And I can just unhook it and take it down if I do not want it there all the time. Also amazingly, this product was delivered in just a few days, in the days before Christmas. Tick, tick, tick. Highly recommend the product and company for prompt service.
I have ordered 3 screens from the magnetic door company. They are on the outside of my house and I leave them up all summer. They last about 2 years with the wear and tear but I would recommend them - they keep the mosquitos and flies out and are simple to use and do not detract from my view

The mesh. It is 10 x 16 heavy duty vinyl coated polyester yarn rather than fibreglass, which is a much heavier thread, and it takes a cat landing on it without tearing or pushing out of the edging.
Will it really stop my cat getting out?
It is built for exactly that and it is what most buyers get it for. No screen is a lock, so a determined cat with time and no supervision is still a determined cat, but ordinary fibreglass fails the first time and this does not.
Does it still keep insects out?
Yes. The weave is tight enough to stop flies, mosquitoes and other flying insects at the same time.
Will a dog damage it?
It resists dog claws as well as cat claws. It is the same mesh either way.
What colour is the mesh?
Black. The edging comes in black or white, so you pick the trim to match your window.
How is it held on?
A continuous self adhesive hook and loop strip on all four sides, the same system as the velcro edged screen. Nothing is drilled.
Is it safe for a rental?
Yes. It is adhesive tape, not screws, and it peels away when you move out. That is why it is a common choice for apartments with no screens at all.
What size do I order?
The size above your opening. The three sizes are 100 x 100, 150 x 150 and 200 x 200 centimetres, and you cut it down to the window.
How do I cut it to size?
With a blade or strong scissors, leaving about a centimetre beyond the edging. No tradesman tools.
How do I fit it?
Clean the window frame, press the tape around the opening, then press the screen on from one corner to the opposite one so the mesh sits flat and taut.
Why does it need to be taut?
A slack screen gives a cat something to hook a claw into and push. Pulled flat, there is nothing to grab.
Can I take it off again?
Yes. It comes off for cleaning and goes back onto the same tape.
How do I clean it?
Peel it off and wipe it with a damp cloth, or vacuum it with a brush head. The vinyl coating takes a wipe better than fibreglass does.
Can I see through it?
Yes, though less than standard grey mesh. Pet mesh is heavier, so it reads a little darker from inside and gives you more daytime privacy from outside.
Does it block much air?
It ventilates well for its strength. The thread is heavier than fibreglass but the weave is open at 10 x 16.
Will the adhesive hold in summer heat?
Yes, provided the frame was clean when it went on. Heat is not the problem; dust under the tape is.
What if my window is bigger than 200 x 200?

Can I use pet mesh on a door?
Not this product, which is a window screen. Pet mesh is available as replacement mesh by the cut piece if you are rescreening a door frame you already own.
Can I buy the pet mesh on its own?
Yes. It is one of the three meshes on the screen mesh page, in three cut sizes.
Is it worth it over the standard screen?
If you have a cat, yes, and buyers usually work that out after replacing a fibreglass screen once. If you have no pets, the standard or midge mesh is the better buy.
Does the frame colour affect the mesh?
No. The mesh is black in both. Only the edging trim changes.
Will it fit an odd shaped window?
Yes. The edging is tape rather than a rigid frame, so it follows an arch or an angle.
Does it come with instructions?
Yes, and there is a fitting video on the product page.
How long does it last?
The vinyl coated polyester is built to outlast fibreglass by a wide margin under claw contact. The adhesive tape is the part that ages, and it is the cheap part to renew.
What does delivery cost?

What makes it cat proof
Ordinary insect mesh is fibreglass, and a cat goes through it the first time it decides to. This mesh is polyester yarn with a vinyl coating at a 10 x 16 weave, which is a heavier thread at a wider spacing, and it takes the weight of an animal hitting it without tearing or pushing out of the edging.
Cats getting out, insects getting in
It does both jobs. The weave is still tight enough to stop flies and mosquitoes, so a window that was open and unscreened becomes a window you can leave open with the cat in the room.
Fitting it in a rental
The edging is self adhesive velcro on all four sides, the same system as the velcro screen, and it comes away when you move. Clean the frame before you stick anything to it, and press from one corner across to the opposite one so the mesh sits flat.
Sizing
Three squares: 100, 150 and 200 centimetres. Measure the opening, order the size above it, and cut the rest away.
