Great service and product. This flyscreen is easy to install and works really well keeping Flys out of the house. The cats are still able to get out their cat flap too. Much sturdier fabric then what you can buy at Bunnings or Mitre 10. Highly recommended
Not only is the screen fantastic, I don't think I have ever had better customer service and communications in my long life.
Thank you so Budget Screens, I'll be a customer my whole life.
Keep up the great work.

The most satisfied i have been with a product in a long time. They delivered above expectations. I was looking for a fly screen and ordered with bespoke measurements to fit my sliding door. Their instructions were very clear and the product fits perfectly. Materials are robust, magnets are strong and it looks very good now that it is installed. So much crap is sold online, this company is a stand out. I am a very satisfied customer ( and now flies free:))
I needed a simple to install, simple to use product, to combat incessant flies coming in through our upstairs balcony in Brisbane. The door being open is essential for the all important breeze, but the flies were unwelcome. Magnetic options were not ideal, and traditional fly screen mesh blocks the breeze. Amazingly, the dangling chains block no breeze, do not block the view much as the loops in the chain are quite open, and not a single fly!!! And I can just unhook it and take it down if I do not want it there all the time. Also amazingly, this product was delivered in just a few days, in the days before Christmas. Tick, tick, tick. Highly recommend the product and company for prompt service.
I have ordered 3 screens from the magnetic door company. They are on the outside of my house and I leave them up all summer. They last about 2 years with the wear and tear but I would recommend them - they keep the mosquitos and flies out and are simple to use and do not detract from my view
Fantastic screen door, perfect for the dog to get in and out. Made to the exact custom measurements I asked for. Great quality material. Very friendly, responsive customer service and communication when ordering
this is the second time I have purchased a custom made fly screen for my bifolding doors in the kitchen. the service was great, the installation process was simple. my first flyscreen lasted several years and hopefully this one will last even longer.
I would definitely recommend the screen door company,we ordered our fly screen with no issues,it was quick and simple to order and arrived a week early,it was easy to put up and we love it

A magnetic strip sticks to your window frame with 3M backed adhesive. The screen sits in a PVC frame with a matching magnetic profile down every edge, and the two hold each other. There is nothing to screw in and nothing to drill.
Do I need any tools?
A cutting blade or a strong pair of scissors, and that is all. No tradesman tools and no drill.
What size should I order?
The size ABOVE your window, because you cut the screen down to fit. The three sizes are 100 x 100, 150 x 150 and 200 x 200 centimetres. A 112 x 95 centimetre window takes the 150 x 150 kit.
How do I measure my window?
Measure the opening you want to cover, width and height, at the widest and tallest points. Then pick the size above both numbers.
How do I cut it down?
Cut the PVC frame to length first with a blade or strong scissors, then trim the mesh with about a centimetre spare. Do the frame before the mesh and take your time on the first one.
What mesh does it come with?
Standard 18 x 16 fibreglass insect screening in grey, woven from permanent glass yarn with a protective vinyl coating. It has a 66% open area and a thread diameter of 0.011 inches, or 0.279 millimetres.
Will it stop mosquitoes?
Yes. The 18 x 16 weave stops mosquitoes, flies and other everyday flying insects. For no-see-ums, sand flies and gnats you want the tighter midge mesh, which is on the velcro edged screen.
Can I see through it?
Yes. The mesh is a dark grey and it reads as a slight tint from inside. It does not block the view and it does not stop the light coming in.
Which frame colour should I pick?
White for a white aluminium or PVC window, which is most Australian windows. Black if you want it least visible from outside, because a dark edge reads as a shadow line. Brown for a timber or bronze anodised frame.
Does the frame colour change the mesh colour?
No. The mesh is grey in all three. Only the PVC frame and the trim change colour.
Is it safe to use in a rental?
Yes, and it is the main reason people buy it. The magnetic strip is held on by 3M backed adhesive, so nothing is screwed, nailed or drilled into the window frame and the strip comes away when you leave.
Will the adhesive damage my window frame?
It is designed to come off again. Take it slowly and warm the strip first if the weather is cold. On a freshly painted frame, let the paint cure fully before you stick anything to it.
What kinds of window does it fit?
Most of them: aluminium, timber, PVC, sliding windows, shutters, awning windows, and the small windows in a bathroom or a toilet. It needs about 10 millimetres of depth, which is why it clears a blind or a roller shutter.
Can I fit it behind a roller shutter or a blind?
Yes. It installs on a depth of 10 millimetres, so a blind or a shutter still runs in front of it.
How do I clean it?
Lift the whole panel off, wipe it with a damp cloth or run a vacuum brush over it, and press it back on. That is the advantage of a magnetic frame over a fixed screen.
Can I take it off in winter?
Yes. Lift it off, roll it up and put it away. It does not take up much space rolled, and the strip can stay on the frame ready for next summer.
Will the magnets lose their strength?
The ferromagnetic rubber magnet keeps its magnetism and its shape under normal household conditions. It is a permanent magnet, not a battery.
Does wind pull it off?
In a normal breeze, no. On an exposed elevation the wind clips in the corner pieces set are worth adding, and they are sold separately in the same three colours.
What if I cut it wrong?
Spare PVC frame is sold by the metre, magnetic strip by the metre and corner pieces by the set, so a bad cut costs a few dollars rather than a whole new screen.
Can I make two small screens out of one big one?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Cut the frame down for both openings, then buy extra frame, extra magnetic strip and a corner set for the second one. All three are on the accessories page.
What if my window is bigger than 200 x 200?
Ask us for a quote on the custom window screen page. We make screens to measure.
Is the mesh flammable?
The fibreglass screening is non combustible and it will not rust, corrode or stain.
Can I use it on a door?
It is designed for windows. For a doorway, the magnetic screen door is the right product, because it opens down the middle and closes itself behind you.
Does it keep the heat out?
It helps a little, because the mesh shades the glass, but it is an insect screen and not a sun screen. A screen on a west facing window makes a noticeable difference on an afternoon.
What is in the kit?
The PVC frame with its magnetic profile, the mesh, and the self adhesive magnetic strip that goes on the window frame.
Can I paint the frame?
We do not recommend it. Paint on the magnetic profile puts a layer between the two magnets and weakens the hold. Pick the colour closest to your frame instead.
Does it come with instructions?
Yes, and there is an installation video on the product page. It is worth watching before you make the first cut.
Can I buy just the mesh later?
Yes. Replacement mesh is sold as a cut piece in three sizes and three types on the screen mesh page, and by the roll if you have a lot to do.
Is it suitable for a caravan or a boat?
For a window, yes, as long as the frame gives you a flat run of about 10 millimetres for the strip. Salt air is not a problem for the mesh, which will not rust or corrode.
How long will it last?
The mesh and the frame are built for years of normal use. The parts that wear, the mesh and the adhesive strip, are both replaceable on their own, so a damaged screen is a repair rather than a replacement.
What does delivery cost?
Delivery is free anywhere in Australia on orders of $100 or more. Below that it is a flat $27.50, which is also the express rate, so one price covers the order however many items are in it.
How long does delivery take?
Allow 5 to 7 days to your door, after a 24 to 48 hour handling and processing time on our end.
Do you deliver outside Australia?
No. We deliver within Australia only.
Do your prices include GST?
Yes. Every price on the site is the GST inclusive price, and the free delivery threshold is measured on the GST inclusive total too.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Yes. You have 30 days to return an unused item in its original packaging for a refund. Nothing here affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law if the screen is faulty, not fit for purpose or not as described.
How do I track my order?
Use the tracking code from your confirmation email on our Track Your Parcel page.

How the magnetic window screen works
The kit is two parts. A magnetic strip goes onto the window frame with 3M backed adhesive, and the screen itself sits in a PVC frame with a matching magnetic profile down every edge. Press the screen against the strip and it holds. Pull it off and the whole panel comes away in your hand, which is how you clean it and how you take it down at the end of summer.
Ordering the right size
There are three sizes and they are all squares: 100 x 100, 150 x 150 and 200 x 200 centimetres. You are not buying a screen that already fits. You are buying one you cut down, so measure the opening and order the size ABOVE it. A 112 x 95 window takes the 150 x 150 kit and you trim off the rest.
Cutting it down
The PVC frame cuts with a sharp blade or a strong pair of scissors. Cut the frame to length first, corner to corner, then trim the mesh with about a centimetre to spare. Take your time on the first one. The second window takes half as long.
Which frame colour
White disappears against a white window frame, which is what most Australian aluminium windows are. Black reads as a shadow line and is the least visible from outside. Brown suits a timber or bronze anodised frame. The mesh itself is grey in all three.
Living with it
The mesh is see through from inside and does not block the light. It wipes clean with a damp cloth or takes a vacuum brush. Off the window it rolls up, so a set of them stores in a cupboard rather than a shed.
